IIT Hyderabad campus recruitment: First phase to be held between December 1 and 22

 NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 3: The placement session for 2018-19 has started at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad with as many as fourteen offers received from three companies during Session 1.1. Students of Electrical, Computer Science and Design departments have got these offers. Four international offers from companies including SMS datatech, Softbank, Mercari, Toyota Research, Toshiba INC. TSMC (Taiwan semiconductors), Works applications and Yokogawa Electric Corporation were also received by the institute. For this first phase, a total of 130 companies have registered.

Phase 1 of recruitment to be held from December 1 to 22

Three sessions commencing from 7 am till 12 midnight are being conducted at IIT Hyderabad. The first phase of campus recruitment for session 2018-19 is being held between December 1 and 22, 2018. As many as 418 students have registered this year for placements across departments.

Companies like Xilinx, Qualcomm, Maruti, ISRO, GE, TCS, Flipkart, Amazon, Samsung, etc. are recruiting from the IIT this year as well.

“We are witnessing an increased participating from Japanese companies. As a result of our collaboration with Japan and their institutes, around 14 companies are visiting this season to hire IIT Hyderabad students,” Professor Amit Acharyya, acting faculty-in-charge of placements, IIT Hyderabad has been quoted as saying to a national daily. He further said, “Placement cell and volunteers are working hard to make this placement season a success for students.”

20 PPOs accepted by students

A total of twenty pre-placement offers (PPOs) have already been accepted by the students. These include offers by companies like Qualcomm, Goldmansachs, Swiggy, Electronic Arts, DeShaw, Amazon, Microsoft, Schlumberger, etc.

Admission to the M.Sc programmes requires a bachelor degree in Science or equivalent. Possessing a valid Joint Admission Test to M.Sc. (JAM) score is mandatory.
