New Delhi, May 2: In order to facilitate quality education to students, the existing syllabus of the technical institutes is being modified by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
AICTE joins hands with Taiwan
AICTE and Taiwan have recently come together to take over the academic education collaboratively. The Indian students will be benefitted by this collaboration in pursuing the degrees in technical programmes in getting global guidance in new emerging domains such as AI, ML, 3D Printing, etc. Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India, which has started the collaboration, will offer international opportunities to the students.
At present, nearly two thousand students from India are acknowledged in technical education from the universities of Taiwan. Chung-Kwang Tien, TECC ambassador, explained that the meet-up between the two countries is aimed at providing hands-on experience to the Indian students across several domains so that machines and software can be developed by them, and they can bring it to India.
The students are currently studying the international teaching of Taiwan in Indian institutions like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), OP Jindal Global University, etc.
“India is the hub of bright students and through faculty-student exchange programmes and scholarships we aim to build a strong academic relationship with India, which will strengthen the economic and socio-cultural co-operation as well,” Tien has been quoted as saying to a national daily.
AICTE plans to establish technical institutes in 9 emerging technologies
Besides the international alliances, AICTE is also in the planning phase for setting up new technical institutions in a total of nine emerging technologies comprising Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, robotics, quantum computing, data sciences, cybersecurity, 3D Printing, and design AR/VR.
Accreditations to these institutes will be given by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) or NBA (National Board of Accreditation).
Since January, several workshops are being held at NITs and IITs in order to make the faculty members technically sound. This had been done so that the faculty becomes expert in the fields of their teachings prior to the beginning of the new institutes.
New technical colleges that are willing to launch new programmes of emerging technologies in their campus will be able to submit their applications from November 2019 onwards.
