CMAT cutoff 2019

CMAT cutoff 2019: Colleges which accept scores of the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) release cutoff of CMAT separately. The conducting body of the exam, however, does not publish any single CMAT cutoff list for the students taking the natioanl level MBA entrance exam. The institutes accepting CMAT score will declare the cut off of CMAT once the results for the exam are announced in the mid-week of February. CMAT cut off 2019 is the minimum aggregate marks that candidates taking the exam have to score to gain entry to the business school where they have applied. Based on the CMAT cut off, students are called for further rounds of selection, which are Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Writing test in some cases. What is CMAT cut off 2019?

 As mentioned earlier, CMAT cut off is the minimum score required to to accepted for admission to a business school. Each business school releases its own cut off of CMAT depending on the programme that the students applies to study. Students scoring below the said cut off are not admitted to the programmes. There are certain factors that determine the cut off for any year. The factors can be anything from the number of candidates applying for the programme to the number of seats available in the management programme. Below are the factors used in determining CMAT cut off:

  1. Number of seats available in the programme
  2. Number of candidates applying for the programme at the institutes
  3. Difficulty level of the CMAT test
  4. Number of candidates who clear the CMAT exam
  5. Number of candidates who appeared for the exam

CMAT cut off: Expected cut off for 2019

The CMAT cut off for 2019 will be released by the second week of February. The cut off will be released separately by the management departments where the candidates have applied. While none of the institutes have declared their CMAT cut off 2019, an evaluation of past trends can give us an idea about how the cut offs would look like in 2019, at least for some business schools. What after CMAT cut off is declared? 

The CMAT cut off 2019 forms the basis for admission to business schools across the country. Candidates who qualify the cut off of CMAT are called for further rounds of the selection process. The further rounds may be Personal Interview, Group Discussion, Essay writing and all or a combination of any two of them. Final admission is offered to students based on their performance in CMAT and other rounds of selection. The candidate’s academic profile is also taken into consideration.

About CMAT

CMAT is a national level management entrance test held for entry into business school programmes across the country. Around 70,000 students appear for the exam annually for admission to over 500 AICTE approved business schools. The exam was being conducted by AICTE till 2018. However, from 2019, it would be conducted by the National Testing Agency(NTA). CMAT is held in the computer based mode and is of 3 hours in duration. It tests candidates in four major areas-Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness.
